World of Warcraft Shadowlands introduced several dozen legendary items to the game that can be crafted by players using the new Soul Ash resource along with various other materials. While the new crafting system has been generally well received by the community, some players may find it a bit overwhelming. Especially those who are only now dipping their toes into WoW Shadowlands for the first time. That’s because you should know what your best-in-slot legendary power is before you craft the accompanying item. And, of course, you’ll need to be able to acquire the power in the first place.
Unfortunately, experimenting with legendries until you find the best one for you spec isn’t really viable due to the scarcity of Soul Ash. You also need quite a bit of gold in order to purchase the base items that serve as vessels for the legendary powers. However, that’s only a minor problem because if you want to buy WoW gold you can simply visit the LootWowGold website and get it for very cheap. What isn’t a minor problem is getting your hands on the best legendary power for your class and spec, but don’t worry because we’re here to help.
This handy guide will give you a quick overview of all BiS powers for every spec and where to find them. Just keep in mind that some BiS legendries will probably change with the launch of WoW Shadowlands Patch 9.1 later this year. This guide is meant to cover best powers in the current Patch 9.0.2 and the upcoming Patch 9.0.5. With that out of the way, let’s take a look at the best legendary powers for each class (in alphabetical order).
Death Knight – Blood
Bryndaor’s Might: Death Strike refunds 15% of Runic Power spent if it heals you for more than 10% of your maximum health.
This is a very good defensive power that procs very often but requires you to be on top of your resource management in order to make the most out of it. Bryndaor’s Might drops from Mort’regar Layer 3+ in Torghast so it’s pretty easy to get even on a fresh alt. In certain situations Supestrain (which allows you to apply all three of you diseases at once) could be more effective but this one is trickier to get as it only drops from Stone Legion Generals in Castle Nathria.
Death Knight – Frost
Koltira’s Favor: Obliterate deals 10% increased damage and has a 12% chance to refund 2 runes.
A very straightforward flat increase to your DPS that’s particularly useful during boss fights. You may struggle a bit to get your hands on Koltira’s Favor as it only drops from Sludgefist in Castle Nathria but the effort is well worth it. If you’re not looking to raid, however, you’ll probably want to go for the Biting Cold power instead, which increases the damage of Remorseless Winter by 30% and procs Rime the first time the ability damages at least 3 enemies.
Death Knight – Unholy
Frenzied Monstrosity: Dark Transformation also increases the attack speed and damage of you and your monstrosity by 12%.
Minions already account for a large chunk of your damage output as an Unholy DK, so this is a natural pick for squeezing in even more DPS. Frenzied Monstrosity is a good choice for all types of content and is pretty easy to get since it drops from the world boss Nurgash Muckformed. Deadliest Coil, the best alternative, buffs both Death Coil and Dark Transformation but is very difficult to recommend to new players because it only drops from Sire Denathrius.
Demon Hunter – Havoc
Collective Anguish: Casting Eye Beam summons and allied Vengeance Demon Hunter who casts Fel Devastation.
Havoc Demon Hunters have a couple of good legendary options in Shadowlands but we like Collective Anguish the most at the moment because of its reliability. Unlike with most of the alternatives, you don’t have to worry about proc chance with this one because the effect is always guaranteed. If you don’t mind legendaries with proc chances, however, you may want to go for Chaos Theory instead. Both powers drop from Castle Nathria bosses.
Demon Hunter – Vengeance
Fiery Soul: Each Soul Fragment Consumed by Soul Cleave reduces the cooldown of Fiery Brand by 2 seconds.
Fiery Soul is an excellent power to go for shortly after hitting level 60 because you can easily get it from Torghast, The Soulforges Layer +3. Interestingly enough, the Havoc recommended power, Collective Anguish, works just fine for Vengeance as well, though the effect is reversed in this case.
