In the World of Warcraft community, there's a saying: "Orc warlocks are no joke!" Hello, everyone! I'm PipiXia, a diehard fan of gear rather than pets like the Pipi Shrimp. Today, let’s dive into some of the best weapons from Classic WoW’s 5-man dungeons. Let’s swim down memory lane!
This weapon was a favorite among low-level twinks for battlegrounds, especially those at level 39. Luckily, it's Bind on Equip (BoE), so you don't necessarily need to grind Uldaman to get it — because its drop rate is notoriously low. If you’re gearing a battleground twink and have support from your main character, consider buying it from the Auction House instead.
The Hydrocane from Gnomeregan is not exactly useful for DPS, but it shines in one very specific situation: underwater quests. Back in the day, underwater quests were a real hassle, especially for classes like warriors who didn’t have good underwater survivability. The Hydrocane solves this problem by giving you underwater breathing. Sure, you could go the engineering route with a Deepdive Helmet, but since the Hydrocane is a weapon, you can easily swap to it mid-combat. If you're not afraid of getting lost in Gnomeregan, this weapon is a must-have.
This one-handed sword has an infamously low drop rate. During WoW Classic, guild members with low-level rogues and warriors would farm for it daily, but very few ever succeeded. Did you manage to get it?
This legendary sword is forged from the twin blades found in Zul’Farrak. Though it’s not the best for max-level raiding, it’s perfectly suitable for leveling up. Its attack speed is on the faster side for a two-hander, so the damage might seem a bit lacking, but it's great for open-world leveling, and the passive damage is quite handy.
The Blade of Eternal Darkness, dropped by Princess Theradras in Maraudon, was a beloved item for caster classes. Even into the Burning Crusade expansion, many players used it for its sustainability in mana regeneration. While it was a bit unconventional, it had a very low drop rate, with some players farming for months without ever seeing it.
Compared to the Blade of Eternal Darkness, which many casters farmed for, Oppressor was for the hardcore collectors. Only the most dedicated old-school players would stubbornly try to get this, as Blackrock Depths was a long and winding dungeon. Many players rarely, if ever, saw Emperor Dagran Thaurissan more than once after completing the quests there. If you ever saw someone in the wild wielding Oppressor paired with the Demonshear weapon, it’s worthy of a salute!
