As the third week of the first season of Embers of Neltharion has concluded, it’s time for the weekly DPS data analysis. Notably, this week will feature the largest class balance adjustments since the expansion launched, so we can expect a significant shift in these rankings by next week. You can find details of the upcoming changes in today’s second post.
This analysis uses all Mythic+ data from the current week, with no layer restrictions. However, theoretically, the higher a class ranks, the more it’s represented in higher-level dungeons and has higher completion rates within the time limit.
Mythic+ continues to follow predictable trends, with Augmentation Evoker firmly sitting atop the leaderboard by a wide margin. This is no surprise, as Augmentation remains an essential class for high-level dungeons, which explains its dominance in the rankings.
For melee DPS, Frost DK takes the crown. While Assassination Rogue might outshine Frost DK in raw damage output, it requires more from the player and suffers from survivability issues, which ultimately causes it to fall behind Frost DK in overall score.
In the ranged DPS category, the top performer of last week has solidified as Fire Mage. Its exceptional AoE capabilities, decent single-target damage, and the crucial "Cauterize" ability make it a stronger choice over Arcane and Frost Mages in Mythic+ settings. However, Fire Mage is highly dependent on secondary stats like Haste, so players should avoid attempting this specialization unless they have the appropriate gear.
The gap between A-tier and B-tier classes is relatively small. For most players, any of these DPS specs are viable in Mythic+. However, C-tier classes are notably weaker and are in need of buffs. Fortunately, most of these C-tier classes are included in this week’s balance changes, so we’ll have to wait and see how they perform after the adjustments.
