Shadowlands added 80+ new mounts to World of Warcraft, many of which are surprisingly easy to acquire. If you haven’t collected Shadowlands mounts at the beginning of the expansion, now would be the perfect time to start because it’s going to take a while before the first major patch drops and there’s not much else to do in the meantime. But where to start? Well, that’s where our little guide comes in.
We’re going to teach you how to easily get your hands on 10 new mounts added in World of Warcraft Shadowlands. We’re not including any Covenant-specific mounts but some of these will be a bit easier to acquire if you’re part of a certain Covenant. Also worth noting is that all these mounts are guaranteed if you fulfill their requirements, so no need to worry about drop rates or anything like that.
Wildseed Cradle
The Wildseed Cradle is quite possibly the easiest mount to get in World of Warcraft Shadowlands. This is a pretty unique flying mount that can be acquired in Ardenweald by simply gathering five items and delivering them to an NPC. The five items – Gardener’s Hammer, Gardener’s Basket, Gardener’s Flute, Gardener’s Wand, and Diary of the Night – can be found scattered around the Garden of Night. Once you have all five, click any one of them to create a new item called Twinklestar’s Gardening Toolkit. You’ll need to bring this item to an NPC called Twinklestar in Tirna Vaal to receive your mount.
Arboreal Gulper
This frog mount can also be found in Ardenweald and is just as easy to acquire as the Wildseed Cradle. The Arboreal Gulper has a guaranteed chance to drop from a rare mob called Humon’gozz, which spawns at the coordinates 32.42, 30.26. In order to summon Humon’gozz, you’ll need to find an item called Unusually Large Mushroom, which can drop from any mob in Ardenweald, so keep killing mobs in the area and you eventually get it. Once you have the mushroom, bring it to the coordinates, click on the Damp Loam found in the area and the mushroom will turn into the rare mob after a while. If you want to avoid the hassle, you can simply join a premade party instead and go kill the mob after somebody else summons it.
Shimmermist Runner
Shimmermist Runner is horse mount you can obtain by clicking on the NPC by the same name found at the end of the Mistveil Tangle maze in Ardenweald. However, in order to be able to click the NPC you’ll first need to complete the maze by following the lanterns that show you the correct path. It’s pretty easy but you can look up a video guide if you’re having trouble with the maze. Once you complete it, you’ll have to defeat a rare mob called Shizgher to get yourself the mount.
Spinemaw Gladechewer
Spinemaw Gladechewer has a guaranteed chance to drop from Gormtamer Tizo, a rare spawns inside the Mistveil Tangle maze. Make sure to get it on your way to the Shimmermist Runner. You’ll need to kill elite mobs in the area to get the rare to spawn so it’s better if you do this in a group. It may take an hour or two until Gormtamer Tizo shows up even with a group but the wait is worth it.
Silky Shimmermoth
This is one of the new moth mounts added in World of Warcraft Shadowlands and requires you to kill all the 7 rares that spawn at the Star Lake Amphitheater in Ardenweald. Doing so will unlock an achievement and the ability to simply buy the mount from a nearby NPC called Master Clerk Salorn. The first thing to keep in mind is that you can only get 1 rare to spawn per day, so this will take you at least 7 days to complete.
If you’re part of the Night Fae covenant, the mount will cost you 30,000 gold. If you’re strapped for cash, you can buy WoW gold from the LootWowGold website or try to farm it yourself if you have the time. If you’re part of any of the three other covenants, you can only buy the Silky Shimmermoth by spending 5,000 anima.
Umbral Scythehorn
Speaking of the Star Lake Amphitheater, completing the daily event will give you reputation with a faction called Court of Night. Once you reach Revered with them, head over to the Hibernal Hollow to find an NPC called Spindlenose who sells you the Umbral Scythehorn. You’ll gain the reputation much faster if you’re Night Fae but members of any Covenant can buy the mount and the price is always the same, 5,000 anima.
Sinrunner Blanchy
Sinrunner Blanchy is a very unique looking mount that you can get by interacting with an NPC called Dead Blanchy in Revendreth. The NPC can be found in the Endmire and has a 1-2 hour spawn time. The NPC will ask you to bring it six different types of items: 8 Handfuls of Oats, 1 Grooming Brush, 4 Sturdy Horseshoes, 1 Bucket of Clean Water, 1 Comfortable Saddle Blanket, and 3 Dredhollow Apples. The items have to be given in the described order and you can only give the NPC one type of item per day, so this will take you 6 days in total. The good news is that you can acquire all the items beforehand.
Silverwind Larion
In order to get this mount you’ll need to gather 50 Anima Crystal Shards, which are scattered all around Bastion. You may need to check a video guide for this one as some of the shards are quite tricky to get. But once you have all 50, head over to 59.2, 31.4 and interact with Forgelite Haphaesius to forge the Crystal Mallet of Heralds. Use this item to ring the Vesper of the Silver Wind at 36.0, 25.2 to get your mount.
Callow Flayedwing
To obtain this mount you’ll first need to get your hands on a Blight-touched Egg. The item has a small chance to drop from a variety of mobs in Maldraxxus, especially Diseased Galescreamers. It’s better if you farm these mobs in a party with other people so you can cover more ground. Depending on your luck, getting the item may take you a while but it should drop eventually. Once you have it, simply wait 5 days for the egg to hatch into the Callow Flayedwing.
Corridor Creeper
This one may take you some time to get depending on your character but you can definitely get it in a single day if you’re determined. The Corridor Creeper is awarded to all players who finish all 8 layers of the Twisting Corridors in Torghast. Running all 8 layers is a bit time-consuming but shouldn’t be too challenging for a well-geared character. At the moment, this is one of only two mounts that can be used in The Maw, so the effort is well worth it.
